The cure for summertime blues The Cure for Summertime Blues | TelePacific Vendor News

For some reason, when people think of summer, they think of warm weather... vacations... relaxing... fun with family and friends. One of the last things they think of is work. Why is that? Why do sunny days and school being out make people think of anything BUT work?

Oh, right — because all those things mean longer daylight hours and a greater variety of available outdoor activities. But sometimes we can’t just disconnect from the office, no matter how much we’d like TelePacific is rolling out some new ways to make completing work while enjoying summer even easier.

This summer brings the launch of TelePacific Mobile, our expansion into the wireless realm. It’s a perfect fit with our existing offerings and truly makes TelePacific a one-stop shop for small- and medium-sized businesses’ telecommunications needs. Our first products are data cards and MiFi hotspots to allow wireless access anywhere your customers are. Whether it’s hanging out at the beach, exploring foothill hamlets or attending a sporting event with no WiFi access (the nerve of that stadium!), users can connect to their office and get stuff done.

That means users can be accessible to the office while on vacation—but on their terms. I.T. can avoid all those annoying “I need help now!” phone calls by answering emails from the pool bar or the ice cream stand or wherever they happen to be. Yeah, it would be nice to completely disconnect...but it’s just not realistic for most people.

Later in the year, we’ll make it even easier for users to stay connected on their own terms because we’re introducing voice products including Blackberry devices and mobile plans at varying price points. We’ll even introduce wireless failover to ensure access to mission-critical applications...ensuring customers have peace of mind.

When everyone returns from vacation and has lots of photos and video to share, that will mean a lot of YouTube viewing and Facebook photo slideshows. A company’s bandwidth needs will increase—and TelePacific thought of that too. Check out the new and enhanced Ethernet offerings that offer increased bandwidth and ease of use. We’ve added 45 wire centers for the first phase of Ethernet over Copper (EOC) delivery. We plan to bring 120 colo’s online in 2010, which means EOC delivery will be available across TelePacific’s California and Nevada service area later this year. This is in addition to the Ethernet over TDM offered now in all markets, as well as the Ethernet over third party.

So what does all of this mean to customers? Besides offering ways they can be “on” even when enjoying a baseball game or drink by the pool...and helping increase the bandwidth available so co-workers can share their summer adventures and not take down the network? Well, those seem like pretty big benefits right there. But if they need more, remind them of TelePacific’s outstanding customer service and support. And tout your special abilities and products that work seamlessly with TelePacific, showing how this is a match made in business telecommunications heaven.

Yes, summer is truly enjoy it whether you’re at work or at play!
