During the recent Channel Partners Conference & Expo Sept. 12-14 in Orlando, Fla., we had the pleasure of visiting with many of our Telepartners and updating them on our recent and upcoming product launches, promotions and network announcements. The latter was a hot topic due to our many recent enhancements to network infrastructure.

Specifically, we've made considerable investments in core network expansion and local access capabilities to give customers an even broader portfolio of solutions to fit their needs and budget. We also have added several new resources including a Tier 3 NOC support group and a lot of network and engineering talent, to cite just two examples. Read more

TelePacific Awarded Top 50 Channel Program; Hojjatnia Top 15 Channel Manager

We have been recognized by readers of Channel Partners magazine for having one of the Top 50 Channel Programs for the sixth consecutive year. The magazine also named Amir Hojjatnia, a TelePacific regional agent manager, one of the industry's Top 15 Channel Managers for the fourth time since the award was established in 2007. He is one of two industry channel managers to hold the distinction.

The most recent Top 50 survey took place in July and the results were compiled from responses given by more than 700 qualified channel partners, including master agents, subagents, independent agents, VARs, dealers, consultants and brokers. Qualified participants cast their votes for their preferred carriers, service providers, resellers, hardware and software vendors, and master agents, ranking them as standouts for factors including ease of doing business, quick quoting, responsiveness, extra support, higher commissions and better SPIFs. TelePacific Named to Inc. 5000
for Sixth Consecutive Year

TelePacific was named one of Inc. Magazine's Fastest Growing Private Companies for the sixth consecutive year. The annual list represents a comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy — America's independent entrepreneurs. With over $500 million in sales, TelePacific ranked fifth highest among telecommunications companies nationwide and first in California based on gross revenue. Across all industries, TelePacific ranked no. 89 based on gross revenue, and added 300 jobs over the past three years.

EoC Distance Extended to 17,000 Feet
in Many California Markets

We continue to increase our Ethernet over Copper (EoC) footprint and have several EoC initiatives underway that are delivering greater bandwidths at further distances for customers located in many California cities. Indeed, we now are able to provision 2 Mbps EoC service to businesses that are about 16,000 feet away from the nearest TelePacific LSO (local serving office) and 1 Mbps up to 17,000 feet.

If you have old EoC requests that were too far away from one of our LSOs given the customer's bandwidth requirements and think that might no longer be the case based on the table above, please resend the address request to and cc your agent manager.

Thakur Hired as Vice President of Engineering

TelePacific has hired Tony Thaker as Vice President of Engineering. Thakur has over 20 years of experience in all aspects of telecommunications engineering including network design, architecture, network planning, deployment, capacity management and sales engineering. He most recently was the Executive Vice President of Engineering and Operations for Carrier Ethernet Exchange (CENX). Prior to that, he was Vice President of Network Technologies and Systems for Time Warner Telecom, where he provided strategic direction, technology selection and product development support for next-generation IP solutions including managed services, IP virtual private network (VPN), virtual private LAN (VPLS) wide-area Ethernet and SIP services.

During his tenure with Time Warner Telecom, Thakur created the first IP network using next-generation core and edge router architecture and managed its network-wide implementation. He also developed and supervised expansion programs into regional and long-haul networks and we look forward to leveraging that experience at TelePacific.
